Why am I doing this?

I started this project for a number of reasons.
#1. Because it satisfies the prankster in me.
#2. Because I like the idea of taking art out of the studio and the gallery and putting it where people can come in direct contact with it.
#3. Because by removing the price tag and giving away a piece of art, it's value is somehow transformed into something personal rather than monetary.
#4. Because I like knowing once I put the work out into the public sphere it's no longer mine. I am no longer responsible for it. I don't have to care or protect it anymore. It's not my problem.
#5. Because nothing else I was working on seemed as interesting.
#6. Because others seemed as excited about the idea as I was.
#7. Because this world can be lonely, and sometimes it makes me feel better to think that, even if I don't know who they are, I am somehow reaching out and maybe making the world a little less lonely for someone else.
